Glansplasty: surgical creation of a glans/head of the penis
Vaginectomy: also called vectomy and vnectomy, is the removal of the vaginal canal and creation of a flat perineum
Burial: the process of de-epithelizing (removing the outer layer of skin) the t-dick to bury it under the neophallus or scrotum
T-dick: a term used by many trans people to refer to the clitoris that grows larger when an individual takes testosterone
Urethral lengthening (UL): the lengthening of the natal urethra using a skin graft
Fistula: an opening in the urethra where urine leaks out, most common where the natal urethra meets the neourethra
Stricture: a narrowing in the urethra
Diverticulum: a bulge or pocket in the urethra where urine collects
Nerve hookup: connecting one or more genital(clitoral) nerves to nerves in the neophallus
Free flap: tissue that can be moved to another site and has its own blood supply, the original blood supply is severed and hooked up to a new blood supply
Pedicle flap: also known as a local flap, it is never completely severed from the body, nor is its blood supply
Full thickness skin graft: these include both the epidermis and dermis and needs to either be closed after harvesting or covered with a split thickness skin graft
Split thickness skin graft: includes the entire epidermis and partial dermis
